Selecting, Using and Finishing Figured Wood

Because it is figured, usually expensive, doesn't mean it will be exceptional and beautiful.  Actually, it can be disastrous.  30+ yaers of using/finishing them has taught me a lot and how to make them "scream", "pop" is what I do.
